DaNeitrah's Daydreams 📷

Hey, my name is DaNeitrah

A California-born Oregonian currently calling Salem home

I create photography experiences for adventurous souls, creative spirits, growing brands, and people learning to see themselves differently. Because the truth is, photography was never really the point.

People were. The woman hyping you up behind the camera, fixing your hair between shots, chasing golden light through forests, and reminding you that you do not need to “know how to pose” to deserve beautiful photographs.

If you're worried you're awkward in front of the camera, you're in very good company.

I've Always Been Fascinated By The Stories People Carry

Because some stories deserve to be remembered while we're still living them.

Not just the obvious ones

The quiet ones.

The chapters that happen between milestones.

The moments that shape us long before we realize they're important.

Photography became a way to slow down and pay attention to those stories.

A reason to explore.

To connect.

To witness people seeing themselves—and the people they love—with a little more kindness.

WHY I DO THIS

Most People Don't Need Better Photographs.

They need permission.

Permission to celebrate themselves.

Permission to take up space.

Permission to stop waiting until they feel more confident, more successful, more photogenic, or more ready.

One of the most common things I hear is:

"I'm awkward in photos."

The funny thing?

Many of the people who say that are the same people whose galleries end up making them cry.

Not because they suddenly became models.

Because they finally saw themselves through a different lens.

Literally and figuratively.

You don't have to become someone else before you're worthy of being photographed.

ROOTED IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST

Adventure Has Always Felt Like Home

The Pacific Northwest has shaped the way I see the world.

The forests.

The coastlines.

The winding roads.

The waterfalls hidden just far enough off the trail to feel like a secret.

These places remind me that beauty isn't always loud.

Sometimes it's quiet.

Sometimes it's messy.

Sometimes it's found in the unexpected detour.

That philosophy influences every experience I create.

Whether we're wandering through downtown Salem, standing on the Oregon Coast, or documenting a business built from years of hard work.

MY APPROACH

Photography Should Feel Like An Experience, Not A Performance

You don't need to know how to pose.

You don't need modeling experience.

You don't need to arrive feeling confident.

My job is to create an environment where you can stop worrying about the camera and start being present.

Somewhere between the nervous beginning and the walk back to the car, something usually shifts.

People relax.

They laugh.

They stop performing.

That's when my favorite photographs happen.

Confidence isn't usually what brings people here. It's often what they leave with.

THE PSYCHOLOGY BEHIND THE CAMERA

My Degree Isn't In Photography

It's in Psychology.

And honestly, I think that helps more than people realize.

Photography is about light, composition, and timing.

But it's also about people.

Understanding nerves.

Building trust.

Creating comfort.

Recognizing the moment someone finally stops being self-conscious and starts being themselves.

The technical side of photography matters.

But helping people feel seen matters just as much.

If you've ever found yourself saying:

"I don't know how to pose."

"I'm awkward in photos."

"I've never done anything like this before."

"I want something artistic, but still feels like me."

You're exactly the kind of person I love working with.

My job isn't to make you perform for a camera.

My job is to create an experience where you can relax, explore, connect, and be fully present while I document what unfolds naturally.

The best photographs rarely happen when we're trying to look perfect.
They happen when we forget we're being photographed at all.

WHO FEELS MOST AT HOME HERE?

Most of my favorite clients started out convinced they weren't photogenic. You might be a good fit if you:

  • love meaningful experiences as much as beautiful photographs
  • consider yourself adventurous, creative, sentimental, or a little bit of all three
  • want guidance throughout the process
  • value authenticity more than perfection
  • are celebrating a milestone, relationship, creative pursuit, or season of growth
  • want imagery that feels like you rather than a Pinterest copy
  • don't think you're photogenic
  • have never done a professional session before
  • Are a little nervous in front of a camera.
  • Care more about experiences than poses.
  • Love exploring new places.
  • Value authenticity over perfection.
  • Believe stories matter.
  • Learning to see yourself differently.
  • Want photographs that feel like memories.

If that sounds familiar, you're probably exactly where you're supposed to be.

Yes, I absolutely stop for good light while driving.

NEVER SAYS NO TO THE OREGON COAST

How Wandering Daydreams Studio Began

Long before I photographed people, I photographed places.

My camera first followed me through forests, coastlines, waterfalls, mountain overlooks, and winding roads across the Pacific Northwest.

I became obsessed with light.

With atmosphere.

With the way a photograph could preserve a feeling long after a moment had passed.

Over time I realized the thing I loved most about landscapes wasn't the scenery itself.

It was the story.

The memories attached to a place.

The feeling of standing somewhere meaningful.

Eventually that passion evolved into portrait photography, where I discovered my favorite stories weren't landscapes at all.

They were people.

Today, that same love of adventure, atmosphere, and storytelling shapes every experience I create.
The Pacific Northwest isn't just where I photograph.

ROOTED IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST

It's part of the visual language of my work.

The forests.

The waterfalls.

The flower fields.

The rugged coastline.

The rain.

The fog.

The mountains.

The quiet corners most people drive right past.

Whether we're exploring the Columbia River Gorge, wandering downtown Portland, chasing wildflowers, or watching the sun disappear over the Oregon Coast, I believe location can become part of the story we're telling. The landscapes that first inspired me continue to shape every image I create.

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK WITH ME

Working with me feels less like a formal photoshoot and more like spending time with a friend who happens to have a camera.

I'll guide you when you need direction.

Give you space when moments are unfolding naturally.

Help you find beautiful locations.

Offer prompts instead of rigid poses.

Celebrate your favorite photographs before you've even seen them.

And probably get excited about the light more than any reasonable person should.

My sessions are collaborative, movement-based, and built around creating genuine experiences rather than perfect performances.

Because the goal isn't to make you look like someone else.

It's to help you recognize yourself.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT?

There are plenty of photographers who can create beautiful images.

What makes this experience different is the way it feels.

My background in psychology taught me to pay attention to people.

To how they communicate.

How they connect.

How they experience themselves.

That perspective influences every session I photograph.

I create experiences designed to help people feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely seen.

Not because confidence comes from photographs.

But because photographs can remind us of confidence we already had.

Combined with adventure, storytelling, atmosphere, and intentional guidance, the result is imagery that feels personal, cinematic, and unmistakably yours.

THE THINGS I BELIEVE

🤎

Everyone deserves to feel seen.

Adventure is worth documenting.

🌈

Representation matters.

🗺️

Beautiful stories can be found almost anywhere.

WHAT I BELIEVE

A Few Things I Believe

You don't need a special occasion to deserve beautiful photographs.

Confidence is built, not required.

Adventure belongs to everyone.

Representation matters.

Stories deserve to be remembered before they're gone.

People are far more beautiful than they give themselves credit for.

The best photographs rarely happen when we're trying too hard.

Connection will always matter more than perfection.

LET'S CREATE SOMETHING WORTH REMEMBERING

If you've made it this far, there's a good chance you're not just looking for photographs.

You're looking for a way to remember this chapter of life.

The people.

The places.

The version of yourself that exists right now.

I'd be honored to help tell that story.

Whether you're celebrating a milestone, documenting a relationship, rebuilding confidence, launching a creative venture, or simply wanting photographs that feel like you, I'd be honored to help tell that story.

Let's create something that feels honest.

Something adventurous.

Something beautiful.

Something worth remembering.
